Mary Mochimaru Montoya

Mary Mochimaru Montoya was a half-Japanese, half-Mexican Harvey Girl who worked at El Navajo in Gallup, NM during World War II.  After the War, Mary became the manager of the Ranch Kitchen along Route 66.  She worked there for over 30 years bringing all of the high standards she learned working for the Fred Harvey Company to her position.  Under Mary’s leadership and oversight, the Ranch Kitchen was a hugely successful restaurant which only recently closed its doors.
