Juanita Trimble

Arizona State Historian Marshall Trimble’s mother Juanita Rogers Trimble raised three boys in Ashfork, Arizona in the late 1940s and 1950s working as a cafe waitress to support her family. Ashfork was an important stop on Route 66 which in the late 1940s was booming with post-war travelers eager to move and explore the West. Today, Marshall credits his mother with his success.  He wanted to make her proud, so he went to college, which led to his prolific career as an historian, teacher and author.
